The EFL Championship is reaching the business end of the season and Easter Monday sees Gameweek 44, and the potential for drama at both ends of the table.

Bet 1: Luton Town vs Bristol City – Under 2.5 Goals (4/6 Odds)
Luton Town are battling against a second successive relegation. The Hatters are currently in the relegation zone, level on points with fourth bottom Derby County. They have only won one home game in the last six.
Bristol City, on the other hand, have climbed out of midtable with a great run during the second half of the season and enter the last three games of the season in fifth place, with a strong chance of making the playoffs. They have, however, only won one away match in the last six.
Both sides are featuring in low scoring games of late. So, we feel that total goals is the way to go. Luton are the league’s lowest scorers but are showing signs of tightening up defensively. Their last six matches have only produced seven goals in total.
Bristol City’s last six have only seen 15 goals, an average of 2.5. Furthermore 12 of Luton’s last 14 home games have seen less than 2.5 goals, while 80% of City’s last 10 away fixtures have been under 2.5 goals. We think this one will be low scoring, so we are going for under 2.5 goals at 4/6.
Bet 2: Millwall vs Norwich City – BTTS: Yes (5/6 Odds)
Millwall’s defeat at Blackburn on Good Friday has left them with only an outside chance of making the playoffs.
Norwich City are marooned in midtable; however, the Canaries matches are still providing some interest, due to the number of goals scored at both ends. City have scored 66 this season but have conceded 63. Their last match saw them lose 5-3 at home to Portsmouth. And their last away match was also a defeat at Burnley, but they did manage to get on the scoresheet, one of only 14 goals Burnley have conceded in the league this season.
Given that Millwall have scored in five of their last six home matches we feel that there will be goals at both ends so we have gone for BTTS.
Bet 3: Plymouth Argyle vs Coventry City – Result/BTTS: Coventry & Yes (12/5 Odds)
Plymouth is rock bottom of the Championship and, with the relegation battle set to go to the wire, this is a must win game for the Pilgrims.
They come up against a Coventry side who have stormed into the playoff picture under Frank Lampard. Coventry have won four of their last seven away matches in the league, with only two defeats in that sequence. We think that they will win on the road again.
However, Plymouth have scored in five of their last six home matches and we think that they will be on the scoresheet again. So, we are going for a Coventry win with BTTS.
Bet 4: Sunderland vs Blackburn Rovers – Result/Total Goals: Sunderland & Under 3.5 (11/8 Odds)
Sunderland is guaranteed a playoff spot; however, their form has been patchy of late, having slipped out of contention for automatic promotion. Mathematically, Blackburn can still get into the playoff spots, but it is looking unlikely.
Sunderland has the fifth best home record in the division. Blackburn have lost 11 times on the road this season, including four from their last six. None of Sunderland’s last 11 games have produced more than three goals in total, while Blackburn’s last 11 have only seen more than three goals twice. We think that this will be a low scoring home win.
Bet 5: Burnley vs Sheffield United – Total Goals: Under 2.5 (4/7 Odds)
Second placed Burnley host third placed Sheffield United in a crucial battle for the automatic promotion spots. Both sides won on Good Friday, with Burnley coming from behind to beat Watford and the Blades seeing off Cardiff City at Bramall Lane.
Burnley have only conceded 14 goals in 43 Championship games this season. Sheffield United have the third best defensive record in the division, conceding 33 times.
We see this as a tight game, where goals will be at a premium. Turf Moor has only seen 36 goals in 21 Championship matches, with only six of those being against the home team. So, we are going for Under 2.5 goals.
